Fire Stations and Funding

Fire Stations

At a September 16, 2010 meeting of the Manchester Planning Board, representatives of the Danais Realty Group presented plans for a three-bay, 10,400 square foot fire station. The New Hampshire Union Leader reported that the new station will be located on Hackett Hill Road across from the entrance to the "Northwest Business Park."

The current fire station in the region (shown below) has only a single engine. It is located nearly directly across Hackett Hill Road from the planned location of the new fire station.

There are plans for limited development of land occupied by the small fire station, once its larger counterpart is completed. The construction of a restaurant appears to be a strong possibility.

It was reported that the new fire station would be completed by May 1, 2011.

Funding

On September 8, 2010, the New Hampshire Union Leader reported that money from a federal economic stimulus program would provide low-interest loans for private sector development projects in Manchester.

It was noted that The Danais Realty Group would be funded for $2.9 million for infrastructure for the proposed Norhwest Business Park at Hackett Hill. The number of jobs that the project would create was not announced.
